This page provides some basic information on The New Woodend Star – a monthly community publication which is a community project of Woodend Rotary.
The New Woodend Star is an independent community newspaper group written for local people, about local people by local people. Produced monthly (excluding January) with a circulation of 3655 throughout Woodend postal district, Newham, Hesket, Ashbourne, North Woodend, Hanging Rock, Carlssuhe and Cobaw.
The New Woodend Star – Takes its name from the original Woodend Star which was a newspaper printed from 1888 to approximately 1970.
The New Woodend Star is the community newspaper of Woodend & district, it is an initiative of the Rotary Club of Woodend. The first edition was printed June 1997 and it owes its success to the dedicated body of Rotarians and volunteers who assist in its production and distribution.
