Days for Girls

Woodend Rotary conducted a session for the ‘Days for Girls’ project today supported by Bev Sofra and a team from North Balwyn Rotary who conduct monthly sessions. We also had great support from Woodend locals with 30 people attending the event. The photos show the activity and fun had by all who attended.
Days for Girls produces sanitary kits for girls in developing countries with kits containing underwear, reusable pads, soap, and washcloth. Kits are delivered to girls along with education and support. Girls who normally have nothing and are culturally stigmatised are able to remain attending school.

Today we made enough kits to save 3,600 school days.
Great effort and thanks to all who supported the event including St Marys who allowed us to use the Norma Richardson Hall.
